Concrete repair
Some concrete damage can be addressed locally. The first question is whether the problem is limited to the concrete or whether the slab has moved because of conditions below it.

Cracks and broken corners
A stable crack or isolated damaged corner can sometimes be filled or rebuilt to remove a loose edge and limit water entry. The repaired material will usually differ in colour and texture, and a moving crack can reopen.
Surface deterioration
Small areas of surface loss need a sound edge and suitable remaining concrete for a repair to hold. If deterioration is widespread, a collection of patches can become harder to maintain than the original surface.
Settlement is not a surface defect
When an entire slab has sunk or tilted, adding material to the top may cover evidence without correcting the support below. The new layer also changes thresholds, steps and drainage.
Set expectations for appearance
Fresh repair material beside weathered concrete will be visible. Colour matching improves only within limits because the original surface has aged, absorbed moisture and been exposed to salts and use.
When replacement is the clearer option
Multiple displaced sections, failed drainage or extensive deterioration often point toward removal. Replacement gives access to the base and allows elevations to be reconsidered; it is not automatically required for every crack.
