A direct exterior finish
Broom-finish concrete
Broom finishing leaves fine lines across the surface of fresh concrete. It is commonly used on driveways, walkways and utility areas where a straightforward exterior finish is appropriate.

What the broom does
The tool is drawn across concrete at the appropriate stage to create fine surface ridges. Direction and consistency influence the finished appearance, while edge and joint work remain visible parts of the slab.
Where it fits
Driveways, side walks, shed pads and simple patios often suit broom finish because the surface is visually quiet and functional. It is not an inferior version of decorative concrete; it is a different finish decision with fewer colour and pattern variables.
Texture and upkeep
Broom texture is intended for exterior use, though no surface is slip-proof under every wet or icy condition. Its relatively direct finish makes normal cleaning and visual repairs easier to understand.
Construction still comes first
A neat broom pattern does not correct a weak base, an unwanted low area or a poor transition. Preparation, elevations, joints and curing have to be planned with the same care as on decorative work.
